Students for Global Health's Antimicrobial Resistance National Working Group

Our mission is to raise awareness, advocate for and take action to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Home: Welcome

What is AMR?

Antimicrobial resistance or AMR is the process through which bacteria and viruses develop resistance to drugs so that these drugs are no longer effective at killing them.

Home: About

Why does AMR matter?

Antimicrobial resistance is a global health and development threat. Without effective antimicrobials our ability to treat infections including those in cancer chemotherapy and during routine operations will be threatened. The WHO predicts that by 2050, 10 million people will die every year due to drug-resistant infections.
